Second Variation


DESTROYER  Isidrio Gatzanaga began in the pistol business in the early 1900's with a pocket revolver called the Puppy but before the First World War he stopped making it and began making a seven shot semi-auto based on the 1903 Browning. This gun will be found with white plastic grips, black rubber grips that will be checkered or checkered with IG logo and Destroyer.  According to J. Howard Mathews," known serial range is from 1878 to 46,723".  During the war years he produced a 9 shot version for the French and the slide was marked 'Cal 7,65m/m Pistolet Automatique "Destroyer" I Gaztanaga-Eibar.  This gun also has the IG in elongated circle as do at least some of the 7 shot guns.  Production for the French was 75,000 guns.

DESTRUCTOR Tradename on pistols made by Iraola Salaverria of Eibar, Spain.  This gun was nickel plated and then gold washed.  IS monogram on the grips.
