GECADO was the trade name
of G.C.Dornheim A.G in Suhl/Germany, but I have no idea who made
it.
I have this mark on several guns but do
not know who it belongs to. I have a Union 1 with the same
mark.

Handy Model 1917 - Maker unknown,
but it is an interesting gun with a spring loaded lever to lock the barrel
bushing in place and a loaded chamber indicator on top of the slide.
It also has a proof on it that I do not recognize, but I do know it is
not Spanish. This gun is more a copy of the 1910 Browning with the
spring around the barrel, barrel bushing and Browning looks but it does
have Ruby features as well. This is the only one I have ever seen
and I do not know the number produced although this gun has a 4 digit serial
which would indicate, at least, 1535 guns. The Handy also comes in
9mm short or .380 cal.
There is a gun listed called a Rex which
is an almost duplicate of this gun made by Gregorio Bolumburu. The
only real difference I can see is the shape of the mag release and the
entwined GB on the grips. This leads me to believe it was made by
Bolumburu under a different name which is very common. I remind you
this is pure speculation on my part and not fact.
Proof that appears to be a crown over something
