Year code proof that will be found on these guns if at all.  Prior to 1927 they were not date coded and I am not sure how far into the Civil War they were made.  It is not likely they would have been made later than 1938 as the Basque region had fallen to Franco late in 1938.

Field stripping a Ruby type gun

The safety on this gun also provided an aid to disassembly by locking the slide open to remove the barrel.

The barrel had a series of 3 lugs which would unlock from the frame, when rotated 90 degrees, allowing the barrel to be removed from the frame pulled forward and then rotated back the 90 degrees to be removed through the front of the slide.  The 6.35 mm usually has two Lugs.

After the barrel and magazine are removed the slide will go forward off of the frame.  This is sometimes hard as the hammer makes contact with the slide on occasions and requires an extra effort.
